Bills leaders vow to put Tampa behind them

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — It's an all-too familiar position for the Bills. Coming off Sunday's 27-6 setback to the Buccaneers, it's another losing season, facing questions about a lackluster performance with their playoff hopes all but finished well before the season's end.

"We will get this thing turned around. I'm sure people are sick of us saying that. We're going to hear the moans and groans and murmurs and everybody saying it's the same old, same old thing that I've been hearing since you've been here. But nobody's more disappointed in our season than us," said running back Fred Jackson.

"Obviously when you don't see results right away, everybody's going to backlash and say it's the same old, it's regression. To me inside the building, I don't feel that. I feel that this organization's heading in the right direction," said running back CJ Spiller.

While there's obvious frustration as the Bills head toward extending the NFL's longest current playoff drought, they stressed the importance of finishing strong these last three games for a multitude of reasons.

"We have players that we have to make sure who the tough competitors, who we can rely on to win, that stuff is being evaluated constantly," said head coach Doug Marrone.

"I think it's important for the players in here to see, to know who they can count on. To know that no matter the circumstances, who's going to be there, and who's going to do the right things," said defensive tackle Kyle Williams.

"Just a couple of weeks ago we were saying we're not far off from where we want to be as a team, then you go and lay an egg like yesterday and you feel like you're starting over at square one. We're not. We have good players on this team. We've just go to do some growing up," said center Eric Wood.

The Bills return to Florida again this week to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars.
