Two Allegany County Residents Charged Following Traffic Stop in Avon

AVON, N.Y. -- Two Allegany County residents face heroin-related charges after a Thursday night traffic stop in Avon, Livingston County.

According to the Livingston County Sheriff's office, Thomas Ellerstein, 35, of Angelica and Wendy Ludolph, 35, of Canaseraga were in a vehicle that deputies pulled over around 11:30 p.m. Thursday on Interstate 390.

Police said a search of the vehicle found 10 bags of heroin and a hypodermic needle. Ludolph was found to be driving with a suspended license and deputies said admitted to using heroin before getting behind the wheel.

Ludolph was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a hypodermic needle, and numerous vehicle and traffic violations. She is being held in the Livingston County Jail with bail set at $2,500 cash.
