A presentation on the University of Rochester's proposal for East High School, set for Tuesday night, was postponed.
The university previously said it was exploring the idea of serving as the Educational Partnership Organization for East.
Board President Van White said Tuesday night's presentation was delayed because those involved need more time to flesh out the details. He says there are five agreements the board must sign off on.
“Like any agreement, coming to an understanding requires trust, conversation, familiarity and we’ve not been given a lot of time to do that," White said. "But to the extent we’re allowed to do that, I have a directive from the board to take the time to encourage the parties to come to a complete and full understanding so that what is produced is something that is really meaningful and helpful to the kids of the city.”
The board must submit these documents to the state by July 1.
White said the board plans to reschedule the meeting for early next week.
