Police said a man was struck and killed by a train Monday in the town of Perinton.

The police investigation was about 1/2 mile west of Lyndon Road, and began shortly before 2 p.m. Monday. Train tracks run alongside the Erie Canal in that area.

Police have not released the man's identity.
