Rochester police have confirmed the identity of the Rochester man shot and killed over the weekend on Lyell Avenue.

Police say the victim is Louis Staples, 20.

Officers responded to the parking lot of this west side business Saturday afternoon. Police say the Staples was shot in the torso. He was taken to Strong Hospital and died about an hour later.

"He's just a wonderful kid. He had a baby. He had so many friends and family that loved him. Another life taken. It's like you can't go outside without something bad happening to everybody. It's just... It's sad," said friend Nicole Miller.

Friends say Staples liked to dance and enjoyed spending time with friends. They say he had two children. Police have not made any arrests.
