After a one year hiatus, the Rochester International Airshow will make a return this summer.
County officials announced Monday that the United States Air Force Thunderbirds will be the featured act this year. The Thunderbirds are the official air demonstration team of the Air Force.
This year's show will be held on the weekend of Aug. 16 - 17.
"It's a very exciting show, a couple of different shows depending on what the weather is, so let's hope for great weather, but we've got some flexibility built in there as well. It's very exciting, it's very loud and it's very fast paced," said Maj. Michael Fisher, U.S. Air Force.
Last year's airshow was canceled because of federal spending cuts. The Thunderbirds last performed in Rochester in 2008.
