The wrong-way driver that crashed into and killed an Eastman School of Music Assistant Professor last Saturday is now in Satisfactory condition at Strong Hospital.

Police say Thomas Rome, 37, of Kirkwood was driving the wrong way on Interstate 490 East when he crashed into an SUV.

Tatiana Tchekina, 69, of Rochester was pronounced dead at the scene. Her husband, Oleh Krysa, 71, had minor injuries.

Tchekina was an Assistant Professor of Accompanying at Eastman. Krysa is a Professor of Violin.
