First responders are reminding drivers to stay safe out there with winter weather spanning all day Saturday and accidents being reported in the city and surrounding counties.

Pittsford firefighters spent about an hour pulling a woman out of a one car crash on West Bloomfield Road in Pittsford Saturday afternoon.

They say the car hit a telephone pole then flipped on its side. There was one person in the car.

Firefighters say it's likely weather conditions and speed were factors in the crash.

"Again, prepare your vehicle for the winter, with the conditions just make sure you have good tires, everything's in good order maintenance wise and just make sure you take it easy on the roads and take it nice and slow. We'd all appreciate that," said Chris Howk, Pittsford Fire Chief.

The fire chief says the driver did not appear to have major injuries. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
