There is another delay in the murder trial of a man charged in the 1991 death of a Greece music teacher.
Edward Laraby suffers from Lou Gehrig's disease and his medical condition continues to deteriorate. Laraby is charged with killing Stephanie Kupchynsky more than 20 years ago.
Her remains were found in Orleans County seven years after her disappearance in 1991. Laraby was a maintenance worker at an apartment complex where Kupchynsky lived at the time of her death.
Laraby is serving time at the Wende Correctional facility for sexual abuse and attempted murder of a prison guard. The medical staff there says his condition will continue to worsen.
"It may ultimately become the decision of the defense to move for dismissal based on what appears to be possible at that point, a permanent inability to participate in his defense and the prosecution would respond to that, however they wish to respond," said Robert Napier, Laraby's attorney.
County Court Judge John DeMarco set another court date in early February to update Laraby's medical condition.
