The renovations at Tops Friendly Market in Brighton are complete. The store underwent some major changes inside and out over the past nine months.
Tops executives, store employees and customers celebrated the re-opening Tuesday even though the store remained open for business throughout the renovation.
Tops wanted to warm up the store and says the $4 million redesign gives it more of a neighborhood feel.
Most of the departments got an update. The pharmacy is twice the size, the organic produce section has expanded and Tops now sells some two thousand gluten-free products.
"Rochester is a really important market for us and it is a market where we think we have lots of opportunities so it was important for us to get up to speed in the modern world," said Tops president & CEO Frank Curci.
Tops in investing money in other locations. The new Tops store in Henrietta is set to open in January followed by the new store set to open in Irondequoit.
