Church to Dedicate Stained Glass Pane to Slain Firefighter

  • Text size: + -

As we approach the anniversary of the Christmas Eve ambush in West Webster, local groups are preparing to honor and remember the first responders killed in the attack.

Saint Stanislaus Church in Rochester will dedicate a new stained glass pane in memory of Tomasz Kaczowka.

He and fellow firefighter Mike Chiapperini were killed in the ambush. Lake Road resident Cheryl Spengler was also killed at the scene.

The stained glass window will depict Saint Florian, patron saint of firefighters.

Saint Stanislaus is located on Hudson Avenue. The dedication mass will be held Sunday at 10 a.m. Bishop Emeritus Matthew Clark will lead the service.
