Thanks to more than a thousand volunteers, some starving children around the world will have a meal to eat.

The Lakeshore Community Church gathered volunteers to pack more than 200,000 meals for the Feed My Starving Children organization.

The church then ships the meals to nearly 70 countries around the world to try to make a difference.

"Our purpose here today is to feed children around the world who are starving," said Sandy Oemcke of Lakeshore Community Church. "To save children who, maybe, tomorrow won't be here. But we're trying to help stop that. We want to save these children, we want to feed them, we want to give them a chance at life like we have."

The meals will be shipped around the world to countries like Haiti and the Philippines, which was recently hit by a typhoon.
