ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Some patients at Golisano Children's hospital got a holiday surprise Friday thanks to some University of Rochester medical students.

The Students Doing Art Program promotes volunteers and second year medical students to engage with patients at the children's hospital.

They come every Friday to give kids opportunities like arts and crafts but this Friday the "On Call" Acapella Group came to perform holiday songs.

"It's that time of year where it's really hard to be away from home so we're trying to bring something into their lives that helps make them happy as they're in the hospital this holiday season," Medical Student Jamie Tyrrell said.

Other Friday afternoon activities brought by students include improvisational groups, dance troups and board game making. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
