ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Founder of Camp Good Days and Special Times, Gary Mervis, has been selected for the FBI Director's Community Leadership Award.

In addition to Camp Good Days, Mervis also spends a great deal of time as Chairman of the Project Exile Advisory Board, working to remove illegal guns from the streets of Rochester.

The FBI presented Mervis with the Award at Camp Good Days in Mendon on Tuesday.

"I think that's all any of us can do is just to hope that we're making a difference and when our time comes that maybe we can say that we left this place a little better than we first entered it," said Gary Mervis, Award Recipient.

Mervis said he was approached by Special Agent Brian Boetig about the award at the 15th Anniversary Luncheon for Project Exile.
