ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- A Candlelight Vigil Tuesday night in Rochester will honor fallen and injured Law Enforcement Officers from around the state.

The group, Genesee Valley Concerns of Police Survivors, will host the annual service.

Genesee Valley C.O.P.S. says that every year across the country more than 140 officers are killed in the line duty.

The memorial honors some of those who died recently, including New York State Troopers Ross Riley, William Keane, and Winston Martindale.

There will also be a special time to honor those who died while off duty.

They will also honor two Police K9's; one was shot and killed during a mass shooting and homicide in Herkimer.

Family and co-workers of Webster Police Lieutenant Mike Chiapperini are expected to attend the service.

Chiapperni was fatally shot last Christmas Eve in an ambush in Webster, while responding to a fire on Lake Road.

The Candlelight Memories Vigil is Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church. It's located at 141 East Ave. in Rochester.
