ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The search for the best holiday deal sent many Rochesterians to the internet on this Cyber Monday.
Instead of punishing its employees, one Victor Company allowed them time to shop during the day.
According to the National Retail Federation, 52% of shoppers said they may shop on their lunch break.
Dixon Schwabl allowed employees an hour for nothing else but Cyber Monday shopping time.
Employees say that by allowing them to shop online and check things off their gift list, they are in fact more productive.
"I think when people at your company feel like they are taking care of their responsibilities at home they are more focused on their work when they are here and doing a better job for our clients so being able to spend some time checking things off a more personal list I think makes us all better employees," said Katie Redmond, Public Relations Manager.
The Retail Federation says more than 131 million shoppers planned to hit the keyboards to find sales Monday.
