A Fairport man faces multiple charges in connection with a head-on crash that killed a Gates teenager early Saturday morning.

Robert Rector, 30, is charged with second degree Manslaughter and Vehicular Manslaughter as well as DWI in connection with the death of Khadijah McKenzie.

The crash happened shortly before 3 a.m. on westbound Interstate 490 near the Ames Street exit.

State police say Rector was driving the wrong-way without his headlights on when he plowed into McKenzie's SUV.

The 19-year old girl's vehicle flipped over from the impact. Both drivers were sent to Strong Memorial Hospital where McKenzie was pronounced dead.

Rector was treated for minor injuries and is now in the Monroe County Jail. He is expected to be arraigned Monday morning in Rochester city court.
