A Rochester man is in custody following an overnight police chase that ended in Irondequoit Bay Thursday morning.

Police attempted to pull over a possible suspect wanted in connection with an investigation in Irondequoit and Rochester, when the suspect fled.

Police say they chased Christopher Denike, 24, from Lake Avenue to the Irondequoit Bay Bridge. He then got out of the car and jumped.

Police from Webster and Irondequoit along with the West Webster Fire Department pulled Denike from the water.

He was taken to Strong Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

An investigation is ongoing.
