Deputy Resigns After Charges Brought Forward

A Wayne County Sheriff's deputy resigned after he was charged with stealing from his own department.

Brandon Martin, 31, of Newark is charged with fraud and petit larceny.

According to the Sheriff's Office, Martin falsified his payroll and received a paid benefit that he wasn't entitled to.

Martin quit the department after his arrest.

He was written a ticket to appear in Lyons Town Court at a later date.
