Bomb Squad Investigates Suspicious Package

  • Text size: + -

The Rochester Police Department bomb squad was called to a report of a suspicious package on Thurston Road. This happened shortly before 5:30 p.m. Monday.

Police say a person found an eight-inch-long foil tube-shaped object on a sidewalk on Thurston and called 911. The foil tube had a small cable in it and a sound coming out of it.

The bomb squad determined that the package was actually a panic alarm wrapped in foil. Police are unsure of how it got there. They say it looks like the alarm was wrapped in foil to dull the sound coming from it.

No arrests have been made in connection with the object.
