According to Rochester Police, the shooting of a six-year-old boy on the city's west side appears to be accidental. It happened just before 7 p.m. Sunday at 31 Rugraff Street, off of Jay Street.
Authorities say the little boy was rushed to Strong Memorial hospital with a gunshot wound to his lower body. Police say he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Adults who were home at the time of the shooting are being interviewed.
There have been no arrests or charges at this time.
