Irondequoit Police confirmed the body found after a house fire last week was that of the home owner.

Investigators say Robert Harris, 60, died from smoke inhalation. However, results of toxicology tests are not yet complete.

According to the state's sex offender registry Harris was a level 3 offender having served jail time for a sex abuse charge in Canandaigua back in 1993.

Firefighters responded to Harris' home on Wahl Road back on September 18 for a report of smoke coming from the house.

Harris' body was found in a room towards the back of the home.

The fire was ruled suspicious and the cause has not yet been released.
