ELBA, N.Y. — A dump truck and a tractor trailer crashed in Elba, Genesee County.

According to State Police, a white tractor trailer was heading south on Norton Road on Tuesday when it failed to yield the right of way.

A Town of Bergen dump truck was traveling east on State Route 262 at the time. The driver then hit the tractor trailer's passenger side causing it to flip.

Surprisingly, there were no injuries to either driver.

"The driver of the white truck would definitely been injured if he did not have a seatbelt on. Both were seatbelted in and I think that has a lot to do with why there's no injuries," said Trooper Holly Hanssel.

The white tractor trailer will be issued a ticket for not yielding the right of way.

Hanssel said 25 to 35 gallons of diesel fuel were spilled in the process. Hazmat took care of the clean-up. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
