One person dead and six are injured after a string of shootings overnight Saturday in Rochester.
Police say that three men and a woman were shot around 1 a.m. near South Plymouth Avenue. They were taken to Strong where one of the men died. He was 59 years old.
The woman victim is 24 years old and the two other men are 21-years-old and 22-years-old. All four are Rochester residents.
Only two hours before that homicide there were three other shootings on Jefferson Avenue.
Just before 11 p.m, Rochester police say an 18-year-old man and a 20-year-old man were shot in the upper body. And within minutes police found a 19-year-old man who had also been shot in the lower body just a block away.
They were all taken to Strong and police say that they are expected to recover.
The Rochester Police Department held a press conference about Saturday night's violence.
Police say they do not know if the shootings are related but they are looking into it. They don't have any suspects detained as of Sunday night.
"We're actively investigating all the incidents," said Lieutenant Jeremy Anzalone, Rochester Police Department. "We've also increased patrols in the area. We've shifted resources from other parts of the city into that area to keep people safe and to look into whose responsible for the shootings."
