Traffic was backed up for miles during the commute home for those living on Rochester's east side.
A tractor trailer caught fire around 5 p.m. Tuesday. The vehicle was pulled over on the shoulder of Interstate 490 eastbound, halfway between the exits for Linden Avenue and Commercial Street.
While firefighters made quick work of dousing the cab fire, traffic was at a standstill for about an hour.
Cars were backed up to west of the I-590 interchange 490 eastbound re-opened.
There is no word of any serious injuries to the truck driver.
