Deputies with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office arrested a Parma man, who served as an umpire in the Spencerport Junior Baseball League, on a sex abuse charge.

Deputies charged Andrew Gill, 21, with one count of sex abuse in the first degree. Gill allegedly abused a four-year-old child and one of the investigators on the case says it happened more than once.

"He's been part of the community and been involved with different community events and we're asking anyone who has information that is relevant to our investigation to please give us a call," said Lt. Doug Comanzo.

Comanzo, with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, says the abuse took place four years ago. Comanzo says Gill knew the child, who is now eight years old, and believes there may be other victims.

"I think education is big, people we know and trust are the abusers sometimes," he said.

We reached out to Andrew Gill's father, who is the commissioner of the Spencerport Junior Baseball League but he could not be reached for comment.

Gill was arraigned and is now being held on $10,000 bail. We're told he is no longer an umpire with the league. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
