Rochester police say they will be stepping up patrols near Durand Eastman Beach after a second stabbing there in less than two weeks.

A 24-year-old man was with a group of friends early Monday morning when he was approached by another group. Police say there was an argument and the man was stabbed in the upper body. He was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released.

Kyle Georgia, 20, was fatally stabbed at Durand Eastman Beach April 23rd. Police arrested Jerry Stanley, 22, in that case. Police say the recent incident is not connected.

Police say they usually increase patrols later in May, but are going to step it up earlier this year due to the early warm weather. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
