Two Firefighters Shot During Webster Shooting Ambush to Speak About Incident

The two firefighters injured in the Christmas Eve shooting in Webster will speak publicly next week for the first time since the ambush.

Firefighters Joseph Hofstetter and Ted Scardino will talk with media next Wednesday afternoon at the West Webster Fire Department.

The two were hurt when a gunman opened fire as crews responded to a house fire on Lake Road. Hofstetter was shot in the pelvis and Scardino was shot in the shoulder and the knee.

Two other firefighters, Michael Chiapperini and Tomasz Kackowza, were killed in the ambush.
