The New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens were neck and neck during Sunday's AFC championship game. Two brothers from Rochester played against each other, vying for a chance to play in the Super Bowl.

Fans weren't the only ones on the edge of their seats during the game. The family of Ravens defensive end Arthur Jones and Patriots defensive end Chandler Jones found out which brother would have a chance to win the Super Bowl.

"Every Sunday, the family would get together and the house would be packed out," said the boys' uncle, Jeffrey Melvin.

Raven Arthur Jones, and Patriot Chandler Jones both grew up in Rochester before later moving to Endicott with their parents. They attended Syracuse University before making their way into the NFL.

"They always wanted to play football, always wanted to be in the NFL all their lives," said Melvin.

The brothers' uncle and grandparents say it doesn't matter who wins the game and that they are equally cheering for both.

"I feel blessed that they are my children, God has really blessed them to get to this place," said the brothers' grandmother, Wyreen Jones.

But the aunts and cousins who gathered around the television wore their team colors proudly.

"It's win-win, a Jones goes, either way a Jones goes," said Melvin.

Their uncle says growing up, the boys were quiet but hard-working, dedicated and centered around two things.

"Pretty much what they did was they went to church and played sports. Their parents gave them a great work ethic and moral ethic, as well," he said.

Those values translate onto the field.

"Great sportsmanship, even-tempered. These kids are very humble, humble in their dress, humble in their lifestyle, the types of people you want your kids to emulate, " he continued.

This diligence is common in the Jones family. Their other brother Jon is a UFC light heavyweight champion.

"They're the same kids, great kids. The fact that one of them is gonna be going to the Super Bowl is just incredible," he said.

And it was a win-win. After what was a re-match from last year's championship game, the Baltimore Ravens and Arthur Jones won the AFC title.

After three years playing in the NFL, Arthur Jones will play in the Super Bowl. This will be the Ravens' first time back at the Super Bowl since 2001. The Baltimore Ravens will play the San Francisco 49ers Feb. 3. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
