A Seneca County man pleaded not guilty to second degree murder charges Monday following a fatal hit-and-run accident in Ontario County over the weekend.

Geneva police say Michael Foulkrod, 44, of Waterloo, attacked and choked a woman Saturday morning near South Main Street and Pulteney Park in Geneva.

Investigators say Foulkrod was driving away when he hit and killed Karl Peter Grune, 77, who was walking down the sidewalk on Elm Street.

Foulkrod was later found and arrested on Hecker Road in Seneca County.

A judge issued an order of protection for the woman.

Foulkrod returns to court on Friday. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
