An Orleans County teen just recieved everything on his wish list this Christmas. And it wasn't from Santa that came through this time, but Rochester's Dream Factory.
"I've been waiting for this for a long time," said 16-year old Tyler Banker, Dream Factory Recipient.
It's wasn't the typical teenage dream, but for Banker, shopping the aisles of Lowe's is where his dreams are being made.
"It feels really cool and it's going to make me feel really happy," said Tyler.
The Dream Factory is providing Tyler with a shopping spree at the home improvement store. The organization granted him 30 items to shop for, plus more.
"We also gave him a gift certificate on top of that and then Lowe's was wonderful and they contributed a $200 gift card also, so I think he made out pretty well," Lisa Caruso, Dream Factory Board Member.
Tyler's parents say he was born with a chronic condition that makes him susceptible to various illnesses.
"He has an immune deficiency called Hypogammaglobulinemia," said Jennifer Banker, Tyler's Mom.
In order to go into public his parents say he gets weekly blood infusions. It's a three hour process that strengthens his immune system.
"Just to see him smiling, it kind of just wipes everything out of his mind and it's unbelievable. It's a dream," said Kevin Banker, Tyler's Dad.
As an outlet, Tyler says he enjoys woodworking, woodcarving and building personal projects.
Sunday he received nearly three-thousand dollars worth of tools for his hobby.
"How much I've been given and all the options I had. It hasn't hit in yet," said Tyler.
This is the 153rd dream the Rochester's Dream Factory has fulfilled.
"Just to see him take it all in and stuff. I think it overwhelmed him, in some respect but, on the other hand it's one of those moments that you'll never forget," said Kevin.
For Tyler, this was an opportunity to buy whatever he needs to build more memories.
"I can't wait to get started," said Tyler.
