The LPGA Championship is returning to Rochester for a fourth consecutive year with Wegmans as the title sponsor. Tournament officials and the LPGA came to an agreement to bring the tour championship back to Locust Hill Country Club.

What it means is a double dose of championship golf next summer. The Wegmans LPGA Championship will be at Locust Hill in early June, followed by the PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club in early August.

Locust Hill has hosted an LPGA event every year since 1977, making Rochester one of the longest running stops on tour. 2013 will mark the fourth consecutive year of hosting the LPGA Championship.

Tournament organizers have been hard at work planning the upcoming tournament, despite some uncertainty that it would return. The contract with the LPGA expired following last year's tournament and discussions really didn't heat up until last month.

The new deal is for just one year. Tournament Director Linda Hampton says there were never any discusssions past 2013.

"We only spoke about '13. It's so hard, there are so many things to consider in making a long term agreement these days. Nobody's doing long term agreements, too many things happening for our title sponsors, for the tour and all that, it was best; and we honestly didn't talk about anything but '13," Hampton said.

The Wegmans LPGA Championship will run June 6th through the 9th at Locust Hill. Tickets are available online and at the tournament office. They'll go on sale Saturday at all Wegmans locations.

The PGA Championship at Oak Hill will be played August 8th through the 11th. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
