HENRIETTA, N.Y. YNN and its parent company, Time Warner Cable, are working to "Connect a Million Minds" through a national effort.

It aims to focus students on STEM, or science, technology, engineering, and math.

The Dome arena in Henrietta played host for the FIRST Robotics Competition of the season. More than 40 high school teams from around the area including Ohio and Canada came together to participate in what is called the "Rebound Rumble", which is a three on three basketball match for robots in which the competitors built.

Preparing and building these robots is a year-long process for the competitors, that stresses the importance of teamwork.

"We have the kickoff in January, and we brainstorm and we just go. I weld the parts and she builds them, we work together," said Victoria Dinoto, FIRST Robotics Competitor.
