ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Maggie Brooks campaign announced that it filed an official grievance with the Fair Election Practices Committee in regards to a Louise Slaughter political ad. Brooks' campaign said the ad is baseless and inaccurate.

Brooks' spokesman Noah Lebowitz said the ad blames Brooks' for projects and spending that happened before she took office, claiming to account for $423 million that Lebowitz said do not exist.

It comes after both Brooks and Slaughter signed the 2012 Fair Election Pledge, which in part said the candidates are to conduct their campaign with accuracy and honesty.

"I think this is another disappointing example of the fact that Louise Slaughter is going to say anything, do anything, whether its true or not, to keep her job in Washington," said Maggie Brooks, (R) Congressional Candidate.

"If you're talking about my ads, they are the campaign," explained Rep. Louise Slaughter, (D) 28th District. "And obviously I think everybody knows here that honesty and highest of ethics with people who trust us with our vote is terribly important to me."

Brooks said the Fair Elections Practices Committee will hold its hearing on Thursday. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
