Too close to call in one of the most watched races in Livingston County in quite some time, and it’s going to stay that way, for now. Steve Sessler has 1792 votes, and Eric Schiener has 1773.

Sessler is in the lead, and confident, but is not declaring victory. His party in Livonia erupted when the results came in. Considered the underdog, Sessler brought 10 years of experience as Livonia Town Judge to the race.

Schiener, based in Avon, was the favorite. He has 12 years experience as Assistant District Attorney in Livingston County. He’s down by 19 votes, but Schiener says there are 229 absentee ballots out there, and he believes he has more of them.

“No one thought we were going to get this far. We’re 19 votes up, and we will go forward, wait to see what happens with the absentee ballots,” Sessler said.

“I think we’ll come out on top at the end. I already had 20 or so calls from people who said they voted absentee, so maybe that’s enough right there,” said Schiener. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
