Police have arrested 28 students in connection with vandalism that happened overnight at the School of the Arts.
The school says more than 50 students took part, leaving the front of the school building covered in graffiti and toilet paper.
District officials say seniors in the past have spray painted the road in front of the school.
Classes did run normally but all senior activities were cancelled for the day.
SOTA principal Brenda Pacheco said in a statement:
“We have wonderful students at SOTA; some of the best and the brightest. We are all deeply saddened by the thoughtless and illegal actions of these seniors. The entire SOTA community is disappointed by this unfortunate event. All students involved will be issued consequences that are yet to be determined.”
The students arrested are charged with criminal mischief, making graffiti, and criminal trespass. All are misdemeanors.
