The National MS Society launched the Orange Bike Project Wednesday to draw attention to its second largest fundraiser, "Bike MS."
Five bright orange bikes have been placed around the Greater Rochester Area and surrounding counties to promote three "Bike MS events".
The challenges take place in the Greater Rochester area, Greater Buffalo area, and the Capital District Region. They're open to anyone with a minimum pledge of $250.
"It's definitely open to all riders," said Alyssa Shoop, senior campaign manager of Bike MS. "It ranges from 30-67-100 miles on Saturday and 20 and 50 mile routes on Sunday. The courses themselves are rolling hills. It's definitely not just for an experienced rider. There's definitely opportunities for the novice rider that's ready for a beautiful ride."
The society is hoping for 315 riders to raise $142,500 to benefit the thousands of people who live with multiple sclerosis in our area.
