Biker facing charges following deadly motorcycle accident

COLDEN, N.Y. -- A Collins man has been charged with vehicular manslaughter and felony DWI after a motorcycle accident that killed his passenger.

Police say 54-year-old Ronald Tackentien was driving his motorcycle on State Route 240 in Colden Sunday night, when he crossed into the other lane and lost control of his bike.

Tackentien and his passenger, 49-year-old Beth Szymanski, were thrown from the bike.

Szymanski was pronounced dead at the scene.

This was the fourth deadly motorcycle accident in Western New York in the past three days.
