Authorities in Wayne County arrested two dozen people on drug charges, in early morning raids Friday.
Sixty-five officers from several agencies carried out the sweep, dubbed "Operation Candyman." The arrests are the result of a six month investigation into drug sales in Wayne County.
Police confiscated crack cocaine, marijuana, pills, cash and two vehicles during the raids. Most of the people arrested are accused of selling crack cocaine.
Lyons Police Chief Michael Donalty says the investigation targeted street-level dealers.
"We want to send a message," said Donalty. "If you're even thinking of coming to Wayne County to sell dope, we're not going to tolerate it."
Those arrested were arraigned and sent to the Wayne County Jail.
