Head of City Fire Union Charged With DWI

  • Text size: + -

The head of the Rochester Fire Union has been charged with DWI after rear-ending a police car last month.

Monroe County Sheriff's Deputies say James McTiernan hit a Gates police car stopped at a red light on Buffalo Road, on August 26.

That cruiser then hit another car in front of it. No one was hurt.
McTiernan was issued an appearance ticket.

Deputies say he was charged with DWI and following too closely.
McTiernan is the president of Rochester Firefighters Union 1071.
