U.S. Attorney, Western NY
Federal authorities in the Buffalo area arrested 20-members of a motorcycle gang.
The arrests bring a 10-month long investigation to an end. About 200 officers and agents raided the "Chosen Few" motorcycle club in Depew Thursday.
Brion Murphy, 52, of Attica was among those arrested. Members are charged with racketeering activities, including plans to bomb a rival motorcycle club and conspiracies to commit murder and assault.
"The message that we wish to convey is a strong one," said Acting U.S. Attorney Kathleen Mehltretter. "That violence by motorcycle gangs will not be tolerated in this community. We hope that individuals, that lawful abiding individuals who enjoy motorcycle riding as a sport will be able to engage in that sport as the summer months come upon us, without fear that they be caught in the crossfire of weapons between motorcycle gangs."
Authorities will move to keep all but four members of the gang behind bars, without bail.
They say 20-out of 25-members of the 'Chosen Few' were arrested during the raid.
