If you are baking your favorite holiday treats you may want to whip up a little treat for your pets.

To make these catnip and tuna crackers you will need:

• 2 cups of flour

• 6 oz can of tuna

• 2 tbsp oil

• 1/2 cup water or catnip tea (pour hot water over catnip and let steep for several minutes)

• 1 tbsp of catnip

Mix all ingredients and chill dough for a few minutes. Roll out chilled dough and cut into shapes, making as many as you can with each roll out.

Bake on a greased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes, or use parchment paper. For soft treats it's OK to under cook them, check them after 10 minutes. Use a festive garnish of catnip as an added flourish.

Because these treats are homemade without preservatives they don’t keep for very long so be sure to share them with other cat people on your holiday list. And don’t be surprised if the dogs like them too. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
