As baby boomers grow older, health experts are taking a closer look at conditions generally associated with seniors.
Wednesday, Unity Health systems is teaming up with the Arthritis Foundation to host a symposium on complimentary and alternative treatments for arthritis.
More and more health experts are looking at things like aquatic therapy and yoga to enhance more traditional treatments like medication and injections.
"The idea of some of these treatments combine the use of breathing and exercise approach to try and help strengthen the body and try to deter the mind from dwindling down from the aspect of chronic pain, really allowing you to take control of your function," said Dr. Joanne Wu, Unity Health System.
The health summit for arthritis will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Village Square on the Unity Hospital campus. The event is free, but seating is limited.
