Once a year you can find the principal of Rochester School No. 7 up on the roof. That is where Wakili Moore was on this day.

Mr. Moore challenges his students to increase their daily reading habits, and rewards them for their efforts by throwing out candy.

“Everyone knows how important reading is for any subject in math, social studies, science and, of course, reading. It just improves their overall education," said principal Moore.

This year, students collected one penny for every page they read during the month of October. The pennies help fund a trip to Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama for one lucky School No. 7 student and parent.

School Number 7 is named after NASA Astronaut Virgil I. Grissom.
