Rochester's first and only cooperatively-owned natural products grocer is celebrating good business.

Abundance Cooperative Market believes that "buying local is sweet."
The neighborhood store on Marshall Street is stocked with as much locally grown food as possible. Vegetables, beef, beans and yogurt are just some of the local organic products sold.

Abundance is a co-op store. Shoppers are the owners. It's only $100 to buy in, but everyone is welcome to shop there.

"I describe it as (a) neighborhood store that is lovingly cared for by people who have supported it for almost 25 years, said Jim DeLuca, Abundance's general manager. "It is cozy, but not too cozy. It has everything you need if you are interested in natural foods - and it is easy to shop."

Abundance Market is open seven days a week. It's located off Monroe Avenue on Marshall Street. New shareholders are always welcome.
